We investigated the antimicrobial activity in vitro of the ethanolic extract of the leaf and the hydroalcoholic extract of pod of Senna reticulata (Willd) "retama”. The sort was gathered at Francisco's locality of Orellana, of aleatory form; At Iquitos's city, Loreto's department, Peru. The antimicrobial activity was evaluated by means of the method of diffusion in agar (Kirby Bauer's Method). The used microorganisms were bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli. In the abstract etanólico of the sheet, 6 (37.5 %) presented moderate antimicrobial significant activity in front of Escherichia coli, with the pod's hydroalcoholic abstract, 11(68,8%) presented moderate antimicrobial significant activity in front of Staphylococcus aureus. The abstracts with the best antimicrobial activity were the abstract etanólico of the sheet in front of Bacillus Coli and the hydroalcoholic abstract of the pod in front of Staphylococcus aureus.
