The method used was the quantitative and non-experimental design of descriptive and correlational type. The population was 200 mothers or caregivers of children under 5 years. The sample was 132 mothers or caregivers assigned by probabilistic two-stage sampling with equal affixation. The technique was the interview, the instruments were: the questionnaire on the level of knowledge about sexual abuse (validity 96.43% and reliability of 94.6%), and the questionnaire on measures to prevent sexual abuse of minors (validity 96.67% and reliability 93.9 %). The data was analyzed with the SPSS 22.0 program. The inferential statistical test was the Phi Correlation Coefficient, with α = 0.05 and 95% confidence level. Results: of 132 (100%) mothers or caregivers 127 (96.2%) had knowledge about optimal sexual abuse, and 122 (92.4%) had correct answers about sexual abuse prevention measures. Conclusion: when performing the statistical inference, the Phi correlation test was applied = 0.477, p = 0.000), which allowed accepting the research hypothesis: there is a significant statistical association between knowledge and prevention measures of sexual abuse in mothers or caregivers of children under 5 years of the Túpac Amaru Youth Town, Iquitos - 2018.
