The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity in vitro of the alcoholic extract of leaves Cashew Linn. ( Casho ), through the disk diffusion method or assay Kirby Bauer; determining the formation of zones of inhibition around the discs test. The plant sample was collected from Southern Cross Town Centre ( 8 km Iquitos - Nauta road) and experimental bacterial strain was provided by the Directorate of Environmental Health ( DESA ) of the Loreto Regional Health Directorate. The experimental bacterial strain was Staphylococcus aureus. For disc diffusion method or Kirby Bauer assay it was used as a positive control Gentamycin 10 ug, which he earned an average of 17.5 mm. the diameter of the inhibition zone ( DZI ), SENSITIVE found as result as method parameters Kirby - Bauer (> 15 mm = Sensible ). The alcoholic extract of leaves Cashew L. ( Casho ), They were evaluated at concentrations of 75, 150 and 300 mg / ml . finding diameters in the zone of inhibition of 6.0mm . , 6.7mm . , 8.0 mm. respectively, which they obtained as results RESISTANT, to be below the comparison parameter as a positive control (<12 mm = resistant ) . The antibacterial activity was measured mainly by the percent inhibition demonstrating the alcoholic extract at various concentrations evaluated, finding 34.29 % and 38.29 % at concentrations of 75mg / ml and 150 mg / ml respectively; which proved to be inactive against Staphylococcus aureus. In the concentration of 300 mg / ml, a percentage of inhibition of 45.71 % , considering it as indolent was obtained.
