The investigation determines the quality of the waters of the artesian wells of the Caserío de Santo Tomas of the District of San Juan Bautista (November 2019 to February 2020). 4 water samples were collected in five wells (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5). They analyzed their physicochemical and bacteriological parameters, comparing them with the maximum permissible limits (LMP), of the regulation of quality of water for human consumption (DS N ° 031-2010-SA). And they determined the quality index, using the Canadian methodology for continental surface waters in Peru (ICA-PE) and the quality standards of water intended for the production of drinking water ECA-A1 (Supreme Decree No. 004-2017-MINAN ). The parameters, physicochemical temperature, turbidity, color, conductivity, total dissolved solids, chlorides, total hardness, nitrates and sulfates of wells 1, 2, 4 and 5, comply with the LMP according to DS N ° 031-2010-SA, With the exception of the hydrogen potential (pH) that was between 4 to 5.37, below the LMP (6.5 to 8.5). The waters of the wells 2, 4 and 5 in the month of January, show values (17, 2 and 11 MPN / 100mL) and do not comply with the LMP (<1.8 MPN / 100mL). Well 3 was discarded as it dried out during monitoring. The water quality index for wells 1, 2, 4 and 5 was 94%. Concluding that the waters of the artesian wells are not suitable for human consumption, however they are of excellent quality for drinking water through conventional treatment.
