The objective was to provide nursing care to the patient with COVID -19 and chronic renal failure, hospitalized in the Medicine service of the Regional Hospital of Loreto. The methodology used was descriptive and the case study design, developed through the nursing care process, Taxonomy II of Nursing Diagnoses of the NANDA. Four nursing diagnoses were identified: 00032 Ineffective respiratory pattern r / c dyspnea e / v in respiratory rate of 22x 'and SpO2 93%, 00026 Excess fluid volume r / c compromised e / v regulation mechanisms due to edema, erythema and pain in the lower left limb, 00146 Anxiety r / c health status and / v concern and restlessness, 00004 Risk of hospital infection r / c alteration of the integrity of the skin. The care provided, as well as the interventions of the health team, contributed to the recovery of the patient. In conclusion, the nursing care process, supported by Jean Watson's theory, is an important tool in universal holistic care, which allows an organized vocabulary in the training of nursing practice, the same that contributed to the care of quality in the recovery of the health of the patient under study.
