The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of three levels of the probiotic EMTM shrimp included in the feed on the growth and body composition of black banded fingerlings, Myleus schomburgkii, grown in pens for a period of three months. 160 black banded fingerlings were planted in 16 pens at a density of 1fish/m2, located at the Fernando Alcántara Bocanegra Research Center, Iquitos-Peru. Four treatments (T1 = 0ml/kg; T2 = 10ml/kg; T3 = 40ml/kg and 70ml/kg of feed) were evaluated with 4 replicates. The fish were fed a commercial diet with 28% PB and 3,818.50 kcal.kg-1, at a feeding rate of 5% of the biomass, adjusted every 15 days. The data of the zootechnical indexes and body composition of the fillet were analyzed with the ANOVA test and the mean values were then compared with the Tukey test (P <0.05). Concluding that the inclusion of the probiotic at dosages greater than 40 and 70 ml.kg in diets for black banded fingerlings, allowed to increase the growth of up to 51.93±5.85 and 49.16±5.03 g. by weight and 14.2±0.40 and 13.82±0.48 cm. in length, improving feed conversion of fish compared to lower dosages or without probiotic addition with a survival of 100%. It also has no effect on the body composition of fish fillets. Limnological parameters indicated that water remained within the allowable ranges for species breeding in tropical climates. Finally, we recommend to include 40 ml.kg (T3) in the feeding of black banded fingerlings, as the cost per kg. Of food is S/. 7.88, while the kg of T4 feed is S/. 10.04.
