The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of two hormonal inducers in the adult arahuanas reproduction in controlled environments, it was developed entirely in the "Fernando Alcantara Bocanegra". Research Center of the Research Institute of the Peruvian Amazon. For this purpose, we determined the gender of players by enzyme immunoassays technique developed for the species in study, and couples selected. Two treatments were evaluated: one with carp pituitary extract (6.0 mg/kg) and the other with Ovaprim ® (0.5 ml/kg), both applied with an interval between doses of twelve hours. Ten hours post induction; we produced to liberate couples not to present evidence of spawning. However, twenty four hours after to release, all females were killed and necropsy was performed to assess the state of maturation of the ovocytes. Showing that one Ovaprim ® treated females showed partial ovulation, this would indicate that there is a possibility in answer to this inductor. Being overtaken to conclude that this species does no respond to the induction of spawning with these hormones, since other options has not been evaluated in this study.
