The research is development in the district of Iquitos, Maynas Province, Loreto region, with the objective of evaluating the state situational in the city of Iquitos with respect to the handling of used lubricating oils. The project corresponds to a descriptive research and cross-sectional, non-experimental, with a sample of 25 companies that sell lubricants The study shows us that: in relation to the process of collecting and handling of lubricating oil, the generators do adequately in an environment inside or outside, in cement floors, manually, with the lack of accessories and tools, and do not use filters in the collection, with 8.2 liters on average per day. With respect to storage conditions, destinations and ways to use the used lubricating oil, generators collected the lubricant to commercialize informally, without permits, being the Motorcycle Driver and loggers, which mostly buy used lubricating oil. The storage environment is closed and do not have records in the handling and transport of lubricating oils, which demonstrates the lack of control over these residues generated by the activity. In the city there is a company for the reuse and refining of used lubricating oil. In relation to the public responsibilities, regulators in the handling of used lubricating oil: It is not known that any state entity to monitor, supervise and regulate the proper handling of used lubricating oil and final destination.
