In recent years, research on antioxidants and phenols has become of great interest to the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industries. For this reason, the objective of this research was to evaluate the antioxidant activity and total phenol content in fruits of Oenocarpus bataua Mart. "ungurahui" from five natural stands in the Peruvian Amazon. To evaluate the antioxidant activity and total phenol content, three spectrophotometric methods were used (ABTS, DPPH, Folin-Ciocalteu). In the methodology, ethanolic extract using 1% formic acid was used; in all techniques, each sample was evaluated in triplicate. The results obtained show that the Pearson correlation is negative between DPPH, ABTS, phenols and fruit length, as well as the existence of a positive correlation between phenol content and ABTS. In the tests carried out, in DPPH the highest result was for the fruits from Allpahuayo Mishana with a value of 2097.74 μmol trolox/g and the lowest value was Santa Rosa with 1360.56 μmol trolox/g; in the ABTS test, the highest result obtained was for the fruits from Allpahuayo Mishana with a value of 1803. 79 μmol trolox/g and the lowest value was Contamana with 831.39 μmol trolox/g, while in the Folin-Ciocalteu test, the highest result obtained was for fruits from Allpahuayo Mishana with a value of 2037.42 mg AG/g and the lowest value was Santa Rosa with 1373.63 mg AG/g. Concluding that the ungurahui from Allpahuayo Mishana is the one with the best characteristics, meaning an opportunity for its use in the cosmetic and food industry.
