The present investigation work had as an objective to evaluate the application of the software “Geogebra” in the resolution of mathematic problems about lineal programming in 5th grade secondary students from I.E.P. MAYNAS, 2015. The general objective of the present research study was to determine if the application of the free software Geogebra favors the resolution of problems on lineal programming in the fifth grade secondary student’s of the I.E.P "Maynas" -2015. Therefore, the population that was made-up of 5th grade students was used, with sections "A", "B", "C", "D", "E" and "F", of the I.E.P. "Maynas", enrolled in the school year, 2015 (147 students). The sample was represented by 84 students distributed as follows: experimental group: 42 students (sections "A" and "D") and control group: 42 students (sections "B" and "C"). Students were selected using the method of intentional or convenience sampling, taking into account the inclusion criteria (grade of study, sex, age, academic performance, interest in participating in the experiment). We applied 5 as observation sheets and 5 development tests (manual and virtual), to our study sample. In the analysis of the results of the corresponding evaluations we used measures of central tendency (arithmetic mean, moda and median). In addition, we used the statistical test of comparison of means whose results demonstrate a normal existence between both study variables, with a 95% confidence value and a precision level of 0.05; Giving validity to the hypothesis of study, and therefore we can affirm that when comparing the results obtained between the level of knowledge acquired by students without and with the use of free software geogebra, there is a significantive difference.
