The present investigation was to determine the relationship between the knowledge and practice of preventive measures for influenza H1Nl in the fifth year students of secondary schools in the moming and evening shift ofthe educational institution Maynas- !quitos 2010. The method was quantitative, nonexperimental descriptive correlational study, the size of the 24an24s24 consisted of 180 students in fifth grade. The instruments used were the questionnaire and checklist for influenza H1N1, which had a validity of 97.6% and 95.9, respectively, through the Delphi method, a reliability above 0.70 (0.864), according to Alpha Crombach. Knowledge of the 180 students at the educational institution "Maynas" 65.6% have adequate knowledge and inadequate skills 34.4%, of which 75% do not recognize the disease as hard tempo, 66.7%, does not identify what are the signs of the disease; 77.8% do not recognize how the disease is diagnosed, 77.2 and 60.6% did not identify what should be done when a person is ill and what are the warning signs of this disease in terms of protective measures 75% and 79.9%, failed to recognize that hand washing is the most important security measure to protect against this disease, or how long this procedure. In the practice of preventive measures on the H1N1 influenza 86.7% of students do not practice preventive measures and 13.3% if they practice, observing that most 24an24s lower 24an rates reached 50.0% which indicates that most students do not practice the measures prevention. By linking the variables found that knowledge is related to the practice of preventive measures on the HlN1 influenza, thereby approving the hypothesis: "There is significant relationship between knowledge and preventive practices of HINI influenza in students Educational Institution "Maynas" in !quitos, with a significance p 0.008 (p <0.05) Keywords: High school students and practice the preventive measures
