Identify which factors are associated with completion of vaginal delivery in patients with a previous cesarean section at the Regional Teaching Hospital of Trujillo. Materials and methods: This analytical, observational, cross-sectional study was conducted, which included 188 pregnant women with a history of previous cesarean section who completed the current pregnancy at the Trujillo Regional Teaching Hospital between January and December 2019. There were 67 patients who completed vaginal delivery and 121 patients who completed cesarean delivery. The factors evaluated were gynecological- obstetric factors and sociodemographic factors. Chi-square analysis was used to determine the association between categorical variables, and Mann- Whitney U for the difference in medians between both groups. In addition, a multivariate analysis was performed. Associations were considered significant if the p value <0.005. Results: A history of vaginal delivery is an associated factor that significantly increases vaginal delivery (PRa: 1.8, 95%CI: 1.24 - 2.60, p=0.002). On the other hand, a macrosomic newborn decreases the probability of vaginal delivery (PRa: 0.25, 95%CI: 0.07 - 0.89, p=0.032). Conclusions: The factors associated with vaginal delivery in pregnant women with a history of previous cesarean section were a history of vaginal delivery and weight of the newborn (macrosomic).
