In several Latin American countries, a series of evaluations are carried out on teachers in search of improving educational quality in said countries. In the case of Peru, the Teacher Performance Evaluation (EDD) is carried out for the different levels of regular basic education. This evaluation was planned to be carried out on primary level teachers for March 2020; However, the EDD was suspended indefinitely considering the COVID-19 emergency. Within this framework, in 2022, this research was carried out with the objective of identifying the perceptions that primary school teachers in an urban space such as the Callao region had about EDD. Based on the above, the study was carried out with a qualitative approach with an exploratory scope, with a phenomenological approach, since its objective was to analyze in depth the perspectives evidenced in the voices of the participants involved in this study. These were four primary level teachers from an I.E. public of the Callao region, to whom a semi-structured interview was conducted. After the analysis, it was identified that teachers consider that this evaluation constitutes a fundamental part of educational improvement. Likewise, they assume that they themselves must take the initiative to prepare for the evaluation. Finally, they consider that the students' opinions could be included in the teachers' evaluation.
