Sexuality is considered a delicate subject to deal with and even a taboo for our society; when it is possible to speak this subject openly, reference is almost always made to youth and mental / physical capacity. The present investigation is of a qualitative type, it has the objective of investigating the social representations of sexuality in young people from 18 to 24 years old with motor disabilities in the city of Cusco. The study population consisted of 6 young women and 1 man with motor disabilities, within the aforementioned age range. The data collection was carried out through a semi-structured interview, to later analyze and investigate the social representation of sexuality through the perception and reports of their lived experiences. The results obtained allowed us to know the social representations of young people with motor disabilities within five categories, four of which make up human sexuality: 1. Reproductiveness, young people show interest in starting a family, but prioritize being able to provide economic stability and good quality of life for their future children; 2. Gender, in this category young people admit to discovering their identity and learning about their sexuality; 3. Eroticism, it is shown that young people with motor disabilities are sexual individuals and live a totally open sexual life; and 4. Affective bond, this category is recognized as fundamental for the formation of these young people since it helps them to form and function with society. And finally the extra category, called “acquired category”: 5. Violence, it was identified that young people with motor disabilities suffered from one or more types of violence (physical, psychological, sexual or hospital) in the course of their lives.
