The sample consisted of 145 health professionals who met the selection criteria; 54 doctors, 65 nurses, 6 obstetricians and 10 medical technologists. The data analysis was performed looking for the Odds Ratio (OR) of association Results: The overall prevalence of MS was 37.2%, with nurses predominating in 46.7% and more frequently between 40-49 years. Among the associated factors, a good lifestyle decreases the presentation of metabolic syndrome in 0.26 times, stress increases the frequency of metabolic syndrome in 1.67 times and in antecedents, the most related is the history of HTA.
