The objective of this thesis was to analyze and evaluate the mechanical behavior of a conventional concr ete sample of f'c = 210 kg / cm2, by replacing the fine aggregate with granulated PET polymer in percentages of 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, 10 % and 15%. It should be noted that the amount of fine aggregate replaced by granulated PET polymer is a function of the weight (kg) obtained in the design of mixtures. The materials used are the following: the coarse aggregate is from the Vicho quarry, the fine aggregate is from the quarries of Cunyac (70%) and Vicho (30%) and the PET polymer used is a recycled and granulated material that was obtained of a pet bottle recycling plant. Finally, according to the results obtained in the respective tests, it was demonstrated that when replacing the fine aggregate with PET granulated polymer in a percentage of 2.5%, the compressive st rength increases slightly by 2.37%, 194.99 kg / cm2 after 7 days, 2.04%, 239.30 kg / cm2 at 28 days respectively, in relation to the concrete pattern (briquettes) and the resistance to flexion decreases significantly either at 7 or 28 days, compared with the concrete pattern (joists), the Slump obtained increases in all the percentages that the granulated PET polymer is replaced, being in a range of 2 “and 3“ in. Making a slightly plastic mixture.
