Autoestima y satisfacción con la carrera elegida de los estudiantes de preclínica de la Escuela Profesional de Estomatología de la Universidad Andina del Cusco 2017-1.

Abstract

El presente trabajo de investigación de Autoestima y Satisfacción con la Carrera Elegida de los Estudiantes de Preclínica de la Escuela Profesional de Estomatología de la Universidad Andina del Cusco, tiene como objetivo determinar el grado de relación entre la autoestima y la satisfacción con la carrera elegida en dicha institución, abordando teorías relacionadas a autoestima y satisfacción con la carrera elegida. El enfoque de la investigación es cuantitativo, el alcance descriptivo-correlacionar y el diseño no experimental – transversal. La población estuvo conformada por 298 unidades de estudio divididos de la siguiente manera: 1er ciclo 70 unidades de estudio; 2do ciclo 39 unidades de estudio; 3er ciclo 50 unidades de estudio, 4to ciclo 51 unidades de estudio; 5to ciclo 44 unidades de estudio; 6to ciclo 54 unidades de estudio; alumnos de la Escuela Profesional de Estomatología, las técnicas que se utilizaron fueron la observación y la encuesta con sus instrumentos fichas de observación, cedula de preguntas o cuestionario respectivamente, los resultados fueron procesados mediante el uso del software estadístico Excel y el SPSS. La conclusión general a la cual se llego fue la siguiente: que si existe relación entre autoestima y satisfacción con la carrera elegida en la Escuela Profesional de Estomatología y se determinó que al 95% de confiabilidad mediante el estadístico Chi cuadrado X2 = 177,856 se puede afirmar que la autoestima de los estudiantes se relaciona con la satisfacción de la carrera elegida, donde el grado de relación determinado mediante la correlación de Taub-de Kendall es = 0,511 es decir de 51% la misma que se puede considerar como una correlación positiva muy baja, hecho que nos permite aseverar en un concepto netamente técnico que a mejor autoestima existirá una mayor satisfacción con la carrera elegida.

The general conclusion reached was: that if there is a relationship between self-esteem and satisfaction with the chosen career in the professional school of Stomatology and it was determined that at 95% confidence by the Chi square statistic X2 = 177,856 it can be stated That the self-esteem of the students is related to the satisfaction with the chosen career, where the degree of relation determined by the correlation of Taub-de Kendall is = 0.511, that is to say 51%, which can be considered as a very low positive correlation , Fact that allows us to assert in a purely technical concept that to better self-esteem there will be greater satisfaction with the chosen career.
