Objective: Associating sociocultural influence and malnutrition in children aged 2-4 years at the San Sebastián health center, Cusco-2022. Methodology: Descriptive-correlational, non-experimental-transitional study, the sample consisted of 109 parents of children under 2-4 years of age in a state of malnutrition in the district of San Sebastián, in addition, the survey and observation of clinical records and review of records in maternity and obstetric center were applied. Results: 22.9% of the parents are separated, in terms of the age group of the caregiver, 49.5% are adults and 59.6% have completed secondary schooling. On the other hand, 50.5% have limited basic services and 55% receive incomes less than and equal to S/ 1300, likewise, 43.1% have the occupation of housewife and 53.2% have their family burden between 3 and 4 family members. On the other hand, beliefs about infant feeding reveal diverse perceptions, with divided views as to the frequency and quality of food. Cultural practices in childcare show a lack of consensus on issues such as exclusive breastfeeding and the frequency of health checks, reflecting the complexity of sociocultural influences on nutrition and child care. Consequently, 8.3% of children aged 2 to 4 years are acutely malnourished, while 74.3% are chronically malnourished and 17.4% are globally malnourished. Conclusions: Factors such as marital status, age group, caregiver's level of education, housing, income, occupation of the head of household and family burden were shown to be determinants of malnutrition. Likewise, beliefs about food consumption, balanced diet, and cultural practices in child care also showed a significant association (p-value<0.05) with malnutrition.
