The main goal of this research is to determine the levels of service and road capacity in the corridor of Av. De la Cultura and the extension Av. De la Cultura in the city of Cusco, in the hypothetical case of the construction of a bike path that connects the historic center from Limacpampa, after a series of field data collection, which was based on taking vehicle gauges at the intersections along this road corridor, the geometry and characteristics were obtained that detail the road section of these two main roads in the city of Cusco, all data processing was based on the disaggregation and grouping of all this information on gauges, geometry, traffic light conditions and control conditions of each of the intersections of the Segregated road corridor and put them in the appropriate formats for entry to the modeling program in Synchro. The objective of the analysis was basically to evaluate the service levels at the intersections when reducing the capacity due to the use of a space for the bicycle lane infrastructure, as well as to evaluate the feasibility of maintaining this cross section and a new lane to make up for the decrease in road capacity. Finally, when making a comparison between the diagnosis of the current situation and the proposal to reduce one lane, the service levels and road capacity were obtained for each of the intersections of the corridor, having the conclusion that the service levels have varied, for the option with the modification of the cross section and does not allow adequate operational conditions, so it is necessary to propose a modification to the road section and try to recover a lane using green areas or additional areas of sidewalks.
