The research focuses on: Evaluating the antibacterial effectiveness of the essential oils of Allium sativum (garlic) and S. molle (molle) against Lactobacillus acidophillus and Streptococcus mutans - Universidad Andina del Cusco, 2022. It is (experimental design), focus quantitative, correlational, in vitro and longitudinal scope. Essential oils were prepared with the technique (steam distillation) for S. molle and A. sativum at 100%, the culture medium for L. acidophillus was (MRS Agar) and for S. mutans sheep blood agar, for To verify the antibacterial effectiveness, the (Kirby Baue) diffusion disk technique was applied on 36 Petri dishes, with 5 paper disks per plate, 5 µl of 100% S. molle essential oil, A. sativum essential oil were inoculated. 100% and combination of the essential oil of Schinus molle and Allium sativum at 100%, as a positive control Penicillin and chlorhexidine and a negative control to Tween 80 and the inhibition zones were measured with a digital ruler at 24, 48 and 72 hours applying the (Duraffourd scale). The results obtained for L. acidophillus indicate that the essential oil of S. molle had a median of 16.6 mm at 72 hours, for the essential oil A. sativum a median of 16.1 was observed at 72 hours, and regarding the synergism of essential oils, they presented a median of 20.3 mm in 72 hours. For S. mutans compared to the essential oil of S. molle it had a median of 16.5 mm at 72 hours, the essential oil of A. sativum presented a mean of 16.9 mm at 72 hours and finally for the synergism of essential oils had an average of 25.8 mm in the 72 hours. Therefore, we conclude by saying that: essential oils of S. molle and A. sativum independently have a greater antibacterial effect against L. acidophillus while the essential oil from the synergism of both essential oils has a greater antibacterial effect against S. mutans.
