The research called: Comparative evaluation of the influence of different thicknesses of mortar joint of three different qualities, in masonry low walls subjected to diagonal compression, elaborated with King Kong brick of 18 holes of the San Jerónimo – Cusco’s area; this investigation searched to analyze the variation of the diagonal compression resistance of low walls elaborated with King Kong brick of 18 holes in function of the joint thicknesses, physical mechanical properties of mortars and physical mechanics properties of the masonry unit evaluated at 28 days. It was made low walls of 0.60m x 0.60m, compounded by the King Kong brick of 18 holes (of zonal manufacture) and a handcrafted mortar, normed and industrial. For mortar joints that vary from 1.50, 2.00 to 2.50cm. The handcraft mortar dosage obeyed a previous research developed by the Thesis students in the sector of Santiago, Cusco. When developing the appropriate tests and analysis, it concluded that the masonry components resistance (masonry and mortar units), have a great effect on the resistance properties of piles and low walls. Likewise, the resistance to diagonal compression of low walls and the axial resistance of piles are inversely proportional to the joint thicknesses. The type of characteristic failure in the low walls is explosively and by diagonal traction.
