This research work seeks to estimate and analyze the degree of influence and the behavior of the main macroeconomic indicators (Gross Domestic Product, investment, Human Development Index and inflation) in the generation of employment in the Cusco Region during the period 2007. to 2021. The scope of the research is explanatory since the cause-effect relationship of the study variables is sought, applying the analysis of comparative and correlational statics since the degree of influence of said variables will be known taking into account from a macroeconomic perspective taking as a framework the theories of the labor market, the Phillips curve, Okun's law, the growth theory of R. Solow and the development theory of Amartya Sen. Secondary data taken from the BCRP, INEI, UNDP, IPE, MEF, MTPE and the Labor Socioeconomic Observatory of the Cusco Regional Directorate of Labor and Employment Promotion is used. First, the behavior of the indicators of each independent variable is compared with that of the dependent variable, taking three five-year periods throughout the analysis period because it is linked to government policies. Then, with the econometric analysis, it is identified that the Gross Domestic Product and the Human Development Index are the variables that have a greater impact on the generation of employment, since, if the GDP increases by 1%, the level of employment will improve by 0.035% with respect to the total EAP and if the Human Development Index rises by 0.01 degree, the level of employment increases by 0.1846% with respect to the total EAP; On the other hand, the variables that have a lesser impact on job creation are investment and inflation, since if gross fixed investment rises by 1%, the level of employment will improve by 0.0049% and if inflation rises by 1 % the level of employment will decrease by -0.017% with respect to the total EAP, confirming the inverse relationship between inflation and employment. Then, comparing the theories and the results of the econometric model, the theoretical economic hypothesis is accepted: "the incidence of the independent variables GDP, investment and HDI have a direct (positive) relationship and inflation has an inverse (negative) relationship in determining of the employment level in the Cusco Region”.
