Relationship between the level of knowledge and the preventive behaviors of gynecological diseases associated with the viruses of the human papiloma in patients of the external gynecology office of Antonio Lorena Hospital, February period of 2020 Introduction: The human papilloma virus is the main risk factor for developing cervical cancer; cervical cancer is the leading cause of morbidity in women in our country, thus becoming a public health problem. Numerous serotypes of this virus together with characteristic features favor the development of cervical cancer. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the preventive behaviors of gynecological diseases associated with the human papilloma virus in patients of the gynecology outpatient clinic of the Hospital Antonio Lorena, period February 2020. Methods: It is a prospective cross-sectional observational design study. Conducted at the Antonio Lorena Hospital during the February 2020 period, in 172 patients who met the selection criteria to be evaluated by conducting a survey. Conclusion: The level of knowledge about HPV is low in married women and with primary education level, the level of preventive behaviors was low in women with primary education. The correlation between the level of knowledge and the level of preventive behaviors in women who attend the gynecology outpatient clinic is low. Results: Of the 172 patients surveyed: The mean age was 34.1 years; according to marital status, the majority were cohabiting (46.5%); According to the degree of education, the highest percentage of women reported having secondary school (40.7%). Regarding religion, the highest percentage of women surveyed is Catholic (79.6%); according to occupation, the women surveyed were mostly housewives (37.2%). The level of knowledge about HPV in the women in this study was low (53.5%). The level of preventive behaviors was low (83.1%). Pearson's correlation is weakly positive (P = 0.001).
