This research addressed the subject of Penitentiary Treatment and the rehabilitation of inmates sentenced to life imprisonment, because the purpose of prison treatment is to re-socialize the inmate, this consists of re-educating, reintegrating and rehabilitating, the latter referring to the empowerment of rights that At some point they were disqualified, in order to understand it seeks to analyze whether the treatments applied are adequate and pursue the rehabilitative end of the sentence. The main objective of the research was to analyze the prison treatment and the rehabilitation of the inmate sentenced to life imprisonment in the Puerto Maldonado Penitentiary Establishment, for this a methodology with a quantitative approach was used, of a basic type, with a descriptive level and a non-existent design. experimental. To collect results, a survey was carried out in a population of 15 inmates sentenced to life imprisonment. According to the analysis carried out, it is concluded that in the Puerto Maldonado Penitentiary Establishment education and labor programs were implemented which are regularly managed, while health, psychology, legal, and social programs are poorly implemented. Therefore, prison treatment is not adequate for inmates with life imprisonment, consequently their rehabilitation is affected, going against the purposes of the penalty.
