The purpose of this thesis was to carry out a comparative analysis of the Physical - Mechanical Properties (Stability, Flow, Percentage of air voids), of a Conventional Hot Asphalt Mix manufactured with asphalt PEN 85-100, with respect to an Asphalt Mix in Hot modified with the addition of Carbon Nanotubes (NTC). For the elaboration of these two types of asphalt mixtures the same gradation and the same stone aggregates were used, the coarse aggregate is from the Morro Blanco quarry (San Salvador), for the fine aggregate material from two quarries, Morro Blanco and Cunyac (Puente Cunyac), these aggregates were obtained from the COPESCO Asphalt plant. This comparative analysis was performed using the “Marshall” hot asphalt mix design method, the objective of which is to determine the optimal percentage of asphalt for a specific combination of aggregates; for which hot asphalt mix specimens were manufactured; the same ones that are made up of different percentages of asphalt (5.5, 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, 7.5%). Subsequently, the Optimal Asphalt Content was determined to be 6.3%, specimens of hot asphalt mix were also manufactured with said Optimal Asphalt Content; the same ones that were added with different percentages of Carbon Nanotubes of between 2%, 3% and 4%. These specimens were subjected to laboratory tests to determine their physical (Percentage of air voids) and mechanical (Stability, Flow) properties. Based on these results and the regulations of the highway manual “General Technical Specifications for Construction EG - 2013“ of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Peru, an addition percentage by weight was obtained with respect to the Optimal Content of Carbon Nanotube Asphalt (NTC) of 2.0% in a Conventional Hot Asphalt Mix made with PEN 85-100 asphalt. It was possible to compare the studied physical-mechanical properties, reaching the following conclusion: The Conventional hot asphalt mix made with PEN 85-100 asphalt with the addition of Carbon Nanotubes in a percentage of 2.0% provides greater benefits in its Physical-Mechanical properties such such as increasing the stability of the conventional asphalt mix from 1295 kg to 1362 kg; the flow of the conventional asphalt mix is 3.35 mm, said value for mixtures modified with 2% NTC is 3.25 mm, likewise the percentage of voids in the conventional mix decreases from 4.6% to 3.9%, similarly the others Volumetric parameters improve considerably.
