The purpose of this research was to determine the association of social factors with edentulism in patients of the dentistry service of the San Sebastián health center. Cusco – 2017. METHODOLOGY.-The present investigation was of a cross – sectional, prospective, observational and descriptive type with a quantitative approach, non – experimental design reaching a correlational level, the sample was of 147 patients attended in the Dentistry Service of the San Sebastián Health Center. The techniques used were: The communication technique by means of a questionnaire of 15 questions with simple selection answers and the Observational Technique for which a clinical recordwas used, both instruments validated by Expert Judgment. RESULTS.-It was observed that of the 7 social factors studied, 4 of them had a significant relationship with edentulism, which are: Age (p = 0.000), Service Type (p = 0.003), Reason for Consultation (p = 0.001) ) and Degree of Instruction (p = 0.000). Being 3 the social factors that do not have a significant relationship with edentulism which are: Sex (p = 0.134), Socioeconomic Level (p = 0.080) and Frequency of Visit (p = 0.872). As for edentulism, patients lose 70.1% of 1 to 5 teeth, 50.1% are Bimaxilla Edentulous.CONCLUSIONS.- There is a significant relationship of Edentulism with Sociodemographic Factors: (age), Socioeconomic Factors - Access to dental care (Type of Service and Reason for Consultation) and Sociocultural Factors (Degree of instruction). There is no significant relationship with Sociodemographic Factors: (Sex), Socioeconomic Factors - Access to care (Frequency of Visit) and Socioeconomic Factors - Socioeconomic level.
