Is necessary and indispensable in the dental profession the utilizatión of X radiation, the offices that have this service have to know and comply with the protection standards, and having the respective permits. The Peruvian state, through Law 28028 establishes the ionizing radiation guidelines in health services, the Peruvian Institute of Nuclear Energy (IPEN) is responsible for its control and supervision; However, the vast majority of Peruvian dental offices don´t have such requirements. The research objectives were find out the relationship between of knowledge and compliance with radiological protection standards level, and between the latter and scattered radiation level presents in dental offices. The population studied was constituted by the dental offices in Región Cusco, the sampling was non-probabilistic for convenience, it was carried out during the first quarter of 2020, which ended with the state of health emergency declaration, the sample size was 47 offices. About this, three tools were used: a questionnaire, an observation guide and a data record sheet, which were validated by the criteria of five experts. The results indicate the level of knowledge of radiological protection standards was medium (51.1%), the level of compliance was medium too (51.1%), and the level of scattered radiation was low (27.7%). The variables relationship evaluated using the Chi test, no statistically significant relationship was found between any. A Technical Guide is proposed for the use and control of ionizing radiation in dental work.
