The present study: "PSYCHOSOCIAL AND DEMOGRAPHIC FACTORS RELATED TO THE INTENTION TO DONATE ORGANS IN FAMILY MEMBERS OF ICU PATIENTS, HOSPITAL REGIONAL AND ANTONIO LORENA DEL CUSCO 2022" had the general objective of establishing the relationship between psychosocial and demographic factors with the intention to donate organs in relatives of ICU patients in public hospitals in Cusco. The research had a quantitative approach, nonexperimental design, descriptive-correlational scope, we worked with a sample population of 46 relatives of patients hospitalized in the ICU service of hospitals, who were administered a structured questionnaire that collected information about of the variables of interest. The results indicated that 54.3% of the sample is female; 43.5% stated that their marital status was single, 41.3% reported having higher university education; 65.2% stated that they came from an urban area and the predominant religion was Catholic with 76.1%. In relation to psychosocial factors, in intrinsic motivation 45.7% is favorable, social influence factor with 47.8% is indifferent and 39.1% is favorable, social interaction factor 63% is favorable and the factor myths and beliefs 56.5% are indifferent. Regarding the intention to donate organs on the part of the relatives of patients admitted to the ICU, 63% are in favor and 37% are against. The hypothesis test carried out by means of the Chi-square statistical test shows that there is a significant relationship between the psychosocial factors in the dimension’s intrinsic motivation (p=0.004), social influence (p=0.047), and myths and beliefs (p=0.0006); with the intention to donate organs in the relatives of ICU patients in the hospitals of Cusco 2022; therefore, the study hypothesis is accepted.
