The present thesis is framed in the city of Cuzco, and its main objective is to evaluate and compare the magnitudes of the seismic response parameters of the building of general classrooms, laboratories and others, UAC, of conventional concrete, with respect to the same simulated building of light concrete, using pumice stone from the province of Canchis. This was done with the preparation of light concrete with 30%, 40%, 50%, 60% and 70% of pumice. The physical and mechanical properties of the conventional and light aggregates that were tested were: Granulometry, specific weight and unit weight. A total of 120 cylindrical specimens were made, 90 units of 10 cm in diameter by 20 cm in height, and 30 specimens of 15 cm in diameter by 30 cm in height, both types conforming to ASTM C31. The specimens described were used to obtain the density, compressive strength and modulus of elasticity of the lightweight concrete. In this way, it was determined that only light concrete with 30%, 40% and 50% of pumice, complied with the design compression resistance, so that only with these percentages were made the following steps of the investigation . We verified the structural irregularity of the building with the different types of concrete, we calculated the static basal constant and the inelastic spectrum of pseudoaccelerations. With these data, the model was elaborated in the program “Etabs 2015”, the live loads, dead loads, static and dynamic seismic loads were assigned; And the respective analyzes were carried out. Based on the results of horizontal displacements, inelastic drifts, shear forces and turning moments, a comparison of each of the simulated buildings with light mixtures was made with respect to the conventional concrete building data. It was concluded that only light concrete with 30% of pumice is better than conventional concrete in the 4 criteria of seismic response parameters considered, thus validating the general hypothesis.
