Introduction: Cognitive impairment in a stage of loss of memory or other cognitive ability in people who maintain the ability to independently perform most activities of daily living. Objective: Determine the relationship between physical activity and cognitive impairment in older adults at the Adolfo Guevara Velasco National Hospital, Cusco 2023. Method: A descriptive, cross-sectional, non-experimental correlational study was carried out, where showed a representative sample of 141 patients. Results: The relationship between physical activity and cognitive impairment is shown where it has been shown that 60% of older adults who perform physical activity do not have cognitive impairment, however, they are 33.18 times more likely to present cognitive impairment, where the result It is statistically significant (OR=33.18 IC95% [1.7810], p=0.000). Conclusion: If there is a significant relationship between physical activity and cognitive deterioration in the elderly at the Adolfo Guevara Velasco National Hospital, Cusco 2023.
