The main objective of this research was to analyze the suitability and convenience of denouncing the American Convention on Human Rights according to the terms proposed by Legislative Project No. 5216/2022-CR, evaluating its implications in the legal, social, and political framework. The general hypothesis asserted that the denunciation of the American Convention on Human Rights, according to the terms proposed by Legislative Project No. 5216/2022-CR, is inadequate and inconvenient, due to its negative implications in the legal, social, and political framework... The theoretical framework of the research focused on analyzing the background related to the suitability of denouncing the American Convention on Human Rights in the terms proposed by Legislative Project No. 5216/2022-CR. The methodology used was qualitative, and the discussion of the results was carried out through juridical argumentation based on theoretical and factual data. The hypotheses were validated, and the main conclusion pointed out that the denunciation of the American Convention on Human Rights according to Legislative Project No. 5216/2022-CR would be highly inadvisable. From a legal perspective, it would imply renouncing international human rights standards and the supervision of the Inter-American Court, weakening the rule of law. Socially, it would undermine trust in governmental institutions and expose vulnerable groups to greater risks. Politically, it would generate internal divisions and damage the country's international relations. Therefore, this action would have negative consequences both nationally and internationally, undermining the commitment to human rights protection and the country's reputation in the international community. The main recommendation is directed towards The denunciation of the American Convention on Human Rights according to Legislative Project No. 5216/2022-CR would be highly inadvisable.
