The purpose of this research is to analyze the road capacity and level of service in the section "Intersection of Almudena-Av. Antonio Lorena to the Tica Tica Arch", due to the constant danger that exists for the users who transit through it, this study makes use of the HCM methodology, with the help of simulation software (Synchro11). The investigation details each of the stages carried out, from the gathering of information in the field, data analysis procedure and analysis of results; To determine traffic conditions, vehicular and pedestrian gauging was carried out at 11 intersections, considering the hours of greatest demand; for the determination of geometric conditions, the topographical survey was carried out; and for the determination of traffic light conditions, a detailed inventory of the existing traffic lights was carried out, with these data we proceed to calculate the road capacity and level of service based on the HCM, incorporating them into the Synchro11 simulation software, with which the Simulation of said intersections in the current state and in the proposal (implementing central shoulders, control devices and signalized intersections). The results obtained determine that on the road the road capacity and level of service are insufficient for the current vehicular demand, it is also shown that the proposal improves the level of service and increases road capacity. Likewise, it is concluded that the proposal results in greater road capacity and a better level of service for the section of study.
