The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between perceived emotional intelligence and academic performance, carried out with a basic substantive scope with the cross-sectional descriptive descriptive design in the population of general studies students of the Professional School of Psychology of the Andean University of Cusco - 2019, using the TMMS-24 Scale survey and instrument technique, with the Chi-square statistical test, finding as results that there is a significant relationship between perceived emotional intelligence and academic performance at the level of 95% of confidence through the Chi-square test, it can be affirmed that there is a relationship between emotional attention and academic performance in students of general studies of the Professional School of Psychology of the Andean University of Cusco - 2019, with p <0.05, where the degree of relationship by means of the correlation of Tau - b of kendall is 0 , 412 in male students and 0.268 in female students; which concludes: that this relationship is of vital importance to strengthen within the training process, is special in students of the Professional School of Psychology, these aspects will help for important aspects in emotional intelligence such as attention, clarity and repair emotional.
