In recent years, Peru has become one of the main international tourist destinations, due to the diversity of cultural, culinary and biodiversity richness it offers, that's why tourism activity has developed remarkably. The Cusco region, considered one of the main tourist destinations in the country, has been developing the tourist activity at a fast pace, being one of the main sources of income for the population, due to its contribution to the localities, contributing to its social and economic development. The Chumbivilcas province has a wide diversity of tourist resources, becoming a very important attraction for tourists, since it offers a different and original alternative to local, national and foreign tourists, which allows the development of different types of tourism (experiential tourism, adventure tourism, archaeological tourism, cultural tourism, ecotourism, among others); the province is characterized mainly by the living culture and cultural identity, embodied in its folkloric festivals, traditions, folklore, among others, constituting itself as a remarkable strength, making the proper development of the tourism market a positively influence for the population, by improving the quality of life, empowering its resources to generate sustainable growth in the province of Chumbivilcas. However, these potentialities develop insipiently within the province, being scarce the use of tourism resources they have, limiting the development of the districts to the capital of the region. The province of Chumbivilcas has a diversity of tourist attractions, and on the other hand it is considered one of the poorest provinces in the region, which is why the intervention of the state through the management of tourism as an alternative to social and economic development is necessary, as well as through public and private investment, to improve the conditions of the tourist plant, and tourist market, which in the long run will generate an added value to the province as a tourist destination, without neglecting the importance of the economic, social and environmental sustainability that this generates; the link between tourism potential and the socio-economic development of the province of Chumbivilcas is evident, since in recent years there has been a notable development of some sectors linked to tourism, such as crafts, entrepreneurship, business investment, among others, which go hand- in-hand according to festive dates throughout the province, which increases the influx of tourists, mainly local and national, and sporadic foreigners.
