For the present research work, we selected 20 patients from 7 to 18 years with Down Syndrome from the “Aventura entre amigos” organization. The patients underwent an odontogram, prophylaxis and dental physiotherapy with Jazz music therapy and Impressionist on different days. The study measured blood pressure, pulse and analog scale of faces before, during and after dental treatment, to measure levels of anxiety. When analyzing the heart rate during the treatment, Jazz music had a heart rate of 62.50 beats / min and for impressionist music it was 60.10 beats / min, with a mean difference of 10.908 beats / min, t = 0.164, p = 0.871 Regarding the systolic pressure during the application of jazz music, the pressure was 123.65 mmHg and for impressionist music it was 110.60 mmHg, and in the diastolic pressure during the application of jazz music the pressure was 65.90 mmHg and for the Impressionist music was 59.00 mmHg with a mean difference of 15,900 mmHg, t = 2,175, p = 0.042 Therefore, it is concluded that Impressionist music therapy helped patients with Down Syndrome in dental care, causing them to feel lower levels of anxiety during Jazz music therapy.
