In this thesis entitled: "DRUG ADDICTION AND ITS IMPLICATIONS IN THE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF LAW AND POLITICAL SCIENCE IN THE ANDEAN UNIVERSITY OF CUSCO, SICUANI BRANCH, DURING THE PERIOD 2019", research of which it is expected that drug addiction significantly influences the academic performance of students of the Professional School of Law of the Sicuani Branch of the Andean University of Cusco, 2019. For which a study of descriptive scope was developed, of non-experimental design, where we had as study universe students of the Professional School of Law of the Andean University of Cusco Sicuani Branch, 2019, where finally an average of 50 students, 10 teachers and 10 parents made up the sample, collecting data using the survey technique and having as an instrument the questionnaire. From the results obtained it is concluded that, drug addiction influences the academic performance of the students of the Professional School of Law, Sicuani Branch of the Andean University of Cusco, during the period 2019, as it is precise that most of the respondents consider that when a student has addiction problems in the DECE, they never have good academic results, on the other hand, a little less than half of the same respondents, pointed out that sometimes they use or used tobacco being aware of the consequences of it, finally, more than half of the respondents of the Andean University of Cusco detailed that throughout their life, sometimes they consumed alcoholic beverages, being this for different personal reasons.
