Síntomas psicopatológicos ante la pandemia de Covid-19 en adultos mayores de los distritos de Wanchaq y Saylla - Cusco, 2021

Abstract

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo comparar el índice global de síntomas psicopatológicos de los adultos mayores de los distritos de Wanchaq y Saylla, de la ciudad de Cusco frente a la pandemia de Covid-19. El estudio se realizó bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, con un alcance descriptivo-comparativo y diseño no experimental de corte transversal; en una muestra de 327 adultos mayores, a quienes se les aplicó el instrumento de evaluación Listado de Síntomas Psicopatológicos (LSB-50) de Rivera y Abuín, adaptado al contexto de pandemia, y el Cuestionario Ad Hoc para recolectar información sociodemográfica. Los resultados del análisis comparativo mostraron que existe una diferencia significativa (P = 0,039) en la presencia de los síntomas psicopatológicos en los adultos mayores del distrito de Wanchaq y Saylla. Concluyendo que los adultos mayores evaluados en ambos distritos presentan niveles elevados de síntomas psicopatológicos, siendo, no obstante, los del distrito de Saylla quienes presentaron mayor tendencia al padecimiento de malestar psicopatológico.

The present research aimed to compare the global index of symptoms psychopathological conditions of the elderly in the Wanchaq and Saylla districts of the city of Cusco in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. The study was carried out under a quantitative approach, with a descriptive- comparative scope and a non-experimental cross-sectional design; in a sample of 327 older adults, to whom the evaluation instrument List of Psychopathological Symptoms (LSB-50) by Rivera and Abuín, adapted to the pandemic context, and the Ad Hoc Questionnaire to collect sociodemographic information. The results of the analysis comparative study showed that there is a significant difference (P = 0.039) in the presence of psychopathological symptoms in older adults in the Wanchaq district and Saylla. Concluding that the older adults evaluated in both districts present high levels of psychopathological symptoms, being, however, those of the Saylla district who presented a greater tendency to suffer from psychopathological discomfort.
