In the decision-making investigation for postpartum contraception in immediate postpartum of the Regional Hospital of Cusco, from August to October 2019, which has as main objective the determination of the decision making for postpartum contraception in immediate postpartum of the Regional Hospital from Cusco, from August to October 2019, a descriptive, quantitative, prospective, non-experimental, cross-sectional research methodology was used; where the results obtained were on sociodemographic, cultural and gender characteristics, the average age found was between 20 to 28 years in 39%, from 29 to 35 years in 35% and adolescents and elderly pregnant women are in a minimal proportion , the decision making for the choice of contraceptive methods after childbirth is determined more by the cultural characteristics followed by those of gender, since 33% have myths and beliefs that affect decision-making where 14% of the entire population they believe that they are abortive or that it is a sin to consume them, 11% believe that it produces sterility, 33% believe that they produce cysts and 11% believe that it produces cancer. 42% of the immediate postpartum of the Regional Hospital of Cusco are influenced by a family member, where 15% is influenced by the husband, 13% by his brothers and 11% by his mothers. Conclusion: There are sociodemographic, cultural and gender characteristics that determine the postpartum decision making process in immediate puérperas of the Regional Hospitalof Cusco, the most determining being cultural and gender because there are myths and beliefs as well as the couple influences the taking of decision.
