Introduction: The stage of pregnancy and postpartum are periods of changes and physiological adaptation. The world has been greatly affected due to the development of the SARS - Cov - 2 infection, the pandemic could affect the mental health of pregnant women after childbirth. Objective: To evaluate the psychological impact of the health emergency due to Sars- Cov-2 infection on the appearance of postpartum depression. Result: A total of 157 pregnant women were analyzed, of which 61 were COVID-19 positive and 96 COVID-19 negative. The study showed that SARS-Cov-2 infection did not have a representative level of association with postpartum depression, with P=0.757 (P > 0.05), which indicates that there is no direct relationship between SARS CoV infection -2 in pregnancy and Postpartum Depression in the Executive Unit 410 Hospital de Quillabamba - 2022. Conclusions: It was found in our study that Sarv-Cov-2 infection during pregnancy did not have a significant additional impact on developing postpartum depression.
