The objective of this research was to carry out a comparative analysis of the seismic and structural response of the Chinchero reservoir located in the district of Chinchero, province of Urubamba and department of Cusco, a rectangular-shaped structure of supported-type reinforced concrete, according to the North American standard. ACI 350.3-06 "Seismic Design of Liquid Containing Structures" with respect to the Peruvian standard E.030 "Seismic-resistant Design". It takes into consideration the hydrodynamic characteristics of the liquid contained in the structure caused by the presence of an earthquake, as it has a wave behavior on the free surface of the fluid. To carry out this research, the model proposed by GW Housner was taken as a basis, applying it through the ACI 350.3-06 standard for seismic analysis, and for its modeling, the SAP2000 software was used, from which the response files were obtained which were later analyzed. The results of the investigation reveal that the axial forces, shear forces, bending moments, displacements and periods of vibration are more incident in the convective mass than for the impulsive mass, taking into account the ACI 350.3-06 standard and the Peruvian standard E. 030 "Earthquake resistant design". In conclusion, the magnitudes of the seismic and structural response parameters of the Chinchero reservoir in general are not greater, according to the ACI 350.3-06 standard with respect to that of the Peruvian standard E.030 “Seismic-resistant Design”. The development of this research is made up of the following chapters: Chapter I: Statement of the problem Where the problem was described and identified, as well as the technical, social, feasibility and relevance justifications; the objectives, hypotheses, variables, scope and limitations of this thesis. Chapter II: Theoretical framework Where the background of this research is presented, which are theses related to the subject of study and also the relevant theoretical aspects that allow us to provide the entire conceptual basis on said research topic, including methods and procedures, among others. Chapter III: Methodology Indicates the methodology of the present investigation, in which the type, level and method of the investigation are indicated, as well as the design of the investigation, the population and the sample, the methodological instruments or data collection. and engineering instruments, the collection procedures, data analysis and the engineering design or flowchart of the work carried out. Chapter VI: Results The comparative analysis of the ACI 350.3-06 standard with respect to the NTP "Earthquake Resistant Design" and interpretation of the results was developed, through which the answers of the proposed objectives were obtained, in these tables, figures, mathematical calculations, data analysis among others. Chapter V: Discussion Indicates the contrast of the results with the theoretical framework, interpretation of the results found in the investigation, comments on the demonstration of the hypotheses, the conclusions, recommendations resulting from the present investigation, references, annexes, among others.
