Objective: The objective of this research was to compare the quality of life in relation to oral health in schoolchildren of 12 - 14 years between a Public and Private Educational Institution, Abancay - 2019. Materials and methods: a comparative and cross-sectional descriptive study, a random sample was made up of 160 students from a public educational institution and 160 students from a private educational institution aged 12 to 14 enrolled in the 2019 school year in the province of Abancay, for the To obtain data, the Child OIDP Questionnaire was used to measure the quality of life in relation to oral health. Data were analyzed using percentage and frequency tables. Results: Quality of life in relation to oral health in the Private Educational Institution was very slight 50.6%, slight 43.1%, moderate 4.4% and severe 1.9%. The total Child OIDP score ranged from 0 to 100 (mean 21.35; SD: 12.25). Quality of life in relation to oral health in the Public Educational Institution was very mild 53.8%, mild 35.0%, moderate 10.6% and severe 0.6%. The total Child OIDP score ranged from 0 to 100 (mean 22.47; SD: 12.67) Conclusion: the quality of life related to oral health according to the type of Educational Institution, both Private and Public, was slight, which means that there is no difference in the quality of life in both groups and is not associated with the type of institution.
