The objective of this thesis is to evaluate the physical-mechanical properties of aggregates from the Rumi Rinconada, Munay Warmi and Huilque quarries for their characterization as granular subbase in the city of Cusco, and if necessary, the improvement of each of the aggregates under study to comply with the parameters required in section 402 of the EG-2013 (Highway Manual - General Technical Specifications for Construction). In this way, in order to comply with the technical requirements of the aggregates, they must be put in front of the different standardized tests of section 402 of the EG-2013, being the study carried out a quantitative approach since these analyses were performed by testing the hypotheses. This thesis also sought to evaluate the aggregates for its implementation, in order to obtain the best aggregate in relation to its physical-mechanical characteristics and production costs, The results showed that the quarries studied comply with most of the studies carried out, except for the granulometric analysis, and in the case of the Munay Warmi quarry, it did not comply with the value of bearing capacity, being improved. In this way, a comparison was made between which of the aggregates was selected as the best, being Rumi Rinconada, based on the values according to the standard and the production costs. Based on the results obtained, Chapter VI presents the conclusions and recommendations, showing that the values of the physical and mechanical properties of the aggregates from the Rumi Rinconada and Huilque quarries meet the requirements for their characterization as granular subbase and through a design for the Munay Warmi aggregate was improved to meet the technical requirements of section 402 of the EG-2013.
