In the present research work, the physical properties (warpage, absorption, dimensional variation, suction and thermal conductivity) and mechanical properties (resistance to compression) of masonry units of dimensions 12 cm x 24 cm x 15 cm, manufactured, were determined based on light concrete (water, cement, fine sand and confectionery), adding percentages of 10%, 15%, 20% and an additional 50% of expanded polystyrene beads (class 10), depending on the volume of the fine aggregate (fine sand and confectionery), taking as reference the research of Dr. Ing. Javier Arrieta Freyre, in which he recommends a proportion of 60% sand and 40% confectionery, thanks to this and through the tests carried out on the aggregates, by combining them, the dosage 1: 4.7: 2.3 cement: sand: confectionery was used. The manufacturing process of the masonry units was carried out entirely manually, using a metal mold and following the recommendations established in the Peruvian technical standard (NTP E070,), regarding the tests to be carried out on the brickwork. The tests on the masonry units such as: granulometric analysis, unit weight, specific weight, absorption, warpage, dimensional variation, suction, thermal conductivity, compression resistance, were carried out taking the specifications in the Peruvian technical standards (NTP 400.022, Aggregates - 2013, NTP 399.613, Masonry Units - 2005, NTP 399.604, Masonry Units - 2005) and (ASTM C177-13), for the thermal conductivity test. Having a total of 240 tested masonry units. The results obtained were tested based on the hypotheses presented, by means of a comparative analysis, taking as reference a masonry unit without the addition of expanded polystyrene beads.
