Fibromialgia (OR=5,230, IC95% [1,381-19,805] p = 0.016*).
Fibromialgia.
OBJECTIVE: Identify the association of Anxiety and Fibromyalgia in patients treated at the Regional Hospital of Cusco in 2023. MATERIALS AND METHOD: The study is observational, cross-sectional since the data collected was obtained from the medical records through the use of data collection forms, it is cross-sectional because the data were collected at a single point in the research. In this way, the comparative analysis of these variables was carried out for subsequent interpretation. It is clinical because the findings supported by research are described with the objective of finding the association between Anxiety and Fibromyalgia. To obtain the results, the univariate calculation was used through double-entry tables and graphs that reflect the results in a didactic manner. Likewise, the Odds Ratio calculation was used for the bivariate analysis, which considers the association of the study with P < 0.05. RESULTS: The trend for the female gender is evident with 142 cases, thus representing 87.7%, while the male population represents 12.3% (20 patients). Likewise, the average age of presentation of Fibromyalgia is 49 years with a standard deviation of 11 years; The age group with the highest presentation is adults (78.4%), followed by older adults representing 20.37%. Likewise, it is evident that there is no association between age group and the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia (p=0.128). The strong association between Anxiety and developing Fibromyalgia is observed (OR=5.230, 95% CI [1.381-19.805] p = 0.016*). CONCLUSION: There is a strong association between anxiety disorder and developing fibromyalgia.
