Introduction: The Life Reform Program is a strategy of extramural approach of theESSALUD, which actively contributes to the integral health care of the workers of theemploying entities, making early detection and timely management of the risk factorsthat lead to the development of the Syndrome Metabolic, bringing health services to theactive insured worker, developing the intervention in the work centers insearch ofchange of bad habits, in such a way to obtain a better quality of life. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the intervention of the Life Reform Program-EsSalud in the Metabolic Syndrome in the workers of the Public Ministry of Cusco,during the year 2018 Material and methods: Non-experimental, relational, longitudinal and retrospectivestudy, carried out in the workers of the Public Ministry 2018, the sample consisted of 71people who met the selection criteria. A review of the Life Reform Program databasewas carried out, using the SPSS 23 version for data processing, with basic descriptiveand inferential statistics. Results:Of the 71 employees screened at baseline with Metabolic Syndrome, 60.6%were male and 39.4% were female; the 36-46 age group was the most frequent; Theprogram identified that 45.1% was controlled, 36.6% improved and uncontrolled 18.3%.Workers with Metabolic Syndrome significantly reduced their criteria after theintervention. It is observed that there are statistically significant differences (p <0.05) between theintervention of the Life Reform Program and the final measurement of abdominalcircumference parameters, HDL level, systolic blood pressure, there were no differencesin the presence of the diastolic blood pressure, triglycerides or glycemia. Conclusions: The intervention of the Life Reform Program is effective in reducing theMetabolic Syndrome criteria, reduces abdominal circumference and systolic bloodpressure, and increases HDL levels.
