The brewery Cusco UCP Backus y Johnston SAA, a subsidiary of SAB Miller producer of alcoholic beverages, has several vice presidents, this study refers vice presidential Manufacturing; more specifically to the packaging area, which has low efficiencies presenting product unscheduled downtime attributed to machines, as well as poor balance in terms of machine speeds and mismanagement. This study has 6 chapters which have been developed with a methodology used in the company Backus, called DMAIC methodology which in turn goes hand in hand with the Deming PDCA cycle. The six chapters were distributed as follows: CHAPTER I: The Problem. The chapter contains the existing problems in the area, taking into account the limitations of the study, justifications and objectives of the research. CHAPTER II: Theoretical Framework. The chapter contains the theoretical information compiled in which are contained the following topics: DMAIC, PDCA cycle, bottlenecks and methodology diagram V. CHAPTER III: Methodology. The chapter contains an explanation of the methodology and how it will be developed on, explaining the DMAIC method and its relevance to the present investigation. CHAPTER IV: Description Company. The chapter contains a historical outlines of the company, the manufacturing process thereof, which is contained in brewing and packaging thereof are explained. CHAPTER V: Diagnosis packaging area. The chapter contains the development of the first three phases of the DMAIC method are: Define the current situation, measure and collect data and analysis of causes. CHAPTER VI: Proposals for improvement. The chapter contains the last two phases of the DMAIC methodology are: innovation and process improvement and balance control line; within this chapter it is also the explanation of the program designed to control the production line. Following this theme they are the conclusions and recommendations was wise to give based on studies and observations.
