Variaciones morfométricas del agujero mentoniano, mediante tomografía digital Cone Beam del área de radiología del CEU “Luis Vallejos Santoni”, Cusco 2022.

Abstract

El objetivo del estudio fue identificar las variaciones morfométricas del agujero mentoniano, mediante tomografía digital Cone Beam del área de radiología del CEU “Luis Vallejos Santoni” Cusco 2022. En los materiales y métodos se realizó un estudio retrospectivo, transversal, descriptivo y observacional, tomando en consideración 200 tomografías del área de radiología y Diagnóstico por imágenes del CEU “Luis Vallejo Santoni” que cumplieron con los criterios de selección planteados en dicho estudio. El presente estudio se realizó en tres etapas iniciando con la entrega y aprobación de los permisos respectivos. Los resultados fueron las variaciones morfometricas del agujero mentoniano según la ubicación con respecto a la clasificación de Jasser & Nwoku, en el lado derecho predomina la posición 4 que indica que el agujero mentoniano está presente en la línea longitudinal con el segundo premolar y en el lado izquierdo predomina la posición 3 que indica que el agujero mentoniano se encuentra entre el primer y segundo premolar. La forma circular es la que predomina en ambos lados tanto derecho como izquierdo y para finalizar se registraron con un mayor porcentaje 1 agujero mentoniano por cada lado.

The objective of the study was to identify the morphometric variations of the mental foramen, by Cone Beam digital tomography of the radiology area of the CEU "Luis Vallejos Santoni" Cusco 2022. In the materials and methods, a retrospective, cross-sectional, descriptive and observational study was carried out, taking into consideration 200 tomographies from the area of radiology and diagnostic imaging of the CEU "Luis Vallejo Santoni" that met the selection criteria set out in said study. This study was carried out in three stages starting with the delivery and approval of the respective permits. The results were the morphometric variations of the mental foramen according to the location with respect to the Jasser & Nwoku classification, position 4 predominates on the right side, indicating that the mental foramen is present in the longitudinal line with the second premolar and on the right side. On the left, position 3 predominates, indicating that the mental foramen is between the first and second premolars. The circular shape is the one that predominates on both sides, both right and left, and finally, 1 mental foramen on each side was recorded with a higher percentage.
