The objective of this research study is to determine the variation of the physical-mechanical properties with the addition of lime (2 and 4%) and cement (7; 9 and 11%) respectively, in clay soils from the Agua Buena-Colegio La Salle road that will be used for subgrade. The research approach is quantitative, the level or scope corresponds to the explanatory descriptive level, and in terms of design it is an experimental research. Laboratory tests were carried out with the addition of lime by weight in the proportions of 2 and 4% and with cement of 7; 9 and 11% respectively, then the results of the analysis of the properties of the soil with the addition of lime and cement in the proportions indicated are presented in tables and figures, from these the variations in the physical-mechanical characteristics for the use in subgrade are established. From the analysis and interpretation of the results it is concluded that the values of the plasticity index with lime addition range between 7.34 and 7.77%; while with the addition of cement they fluctuate between 4.55 and 5.05%, observing, with cement attachment there is a decrease in the plasticity index; compaction tests using energy modified with lime and cement as additives, the optimal moisture content with the addition of 9% cement is the most representative at 11.95% at a maximum dry density of 1.69gr/cm3; the CBR index at 95% maximum dry density is achieved with the addition of cement at a proportion of 11% obtaining a percentage of 10.50%, and the tests of resistance to unconfined compression can be indicated that the stress or resistance of the soil was achieved a better cohesion with the addition of cement at 11%.
