At present, dental treatments such as oral surgery, periodontics and oral rehabilitation have greater implications because they generate more trauma during treatments that involve cuts, bleeding, inflammation and infection of the gum, the species under study is used by the villagers to heal the wounds of the body. Reason why it is intended to accelerate the healing process after a cut performed, as well as being able to use it as a therapeutic alternative in order to reduce the costs of conventional medicines. The objective of this work is to evaluate the healing effect of the hydroalcoholic extract in 70% of the fruits of Morinda citrifolia (Noni) at different concentrations in periodontal incisions induced in albino rats of the Holtzman race, through an application and quasi-experimental study. A preliminary study of solubility tests, qualitative phytochemical analysis, pharmacological and histopathological study was carried out. An experimental group was divided into four groups of five animals each of Holtzman rats, a control group (no treatment) and three problem groups at doses of 1, 5 and 10% of the extract. The Incision Method was applied on gums. The treatment was topical for the experimental model, applied 2 times a day in the amount of 0.5 mL in the incision made and evaluated for 7 days. The healing time was measured for 7 days evaluating the parameters: inflammation, infection, gum color and gum closure, decrease in the size of the incision of the gums, percentage of healing (% C) and a histopathological study was performed. After the experiment was carried out, the following results were obtained: In the preliminary study, the extract is polar in nature and contains monosaccharides, glucosides, tannins, saponins and alkaloids as metabolites in greater proportion. The complete healing time was 7 days, with incision reduction from 10 mm on the first day to 0.0 mm on the seventh day, with a healing rate of 100% on the seventh day of treatment, at a dose of 5% being superior to that of the extracts of 10 and 1%, demonstrating its cicatrizant activity, with respect to the histopathological study the tissues were regenerated after 7 days, reaching to maintain the initial structure of the gum. In conclusion: The hydroalcoholic extract at 70% at the concentration of 5% presented healing activity reducing the incision of the gingiva on the seventh day of treatment.
