This research is called: “Evaluation of the physical-mechanical properties of unstable soils incorporating hydraulic gypsum (YH) on low traffic volume roads. Tica Tica-Chinchero Highway, Cusco 2021", aims to evaluate the physical-mechanical properties of an unstable soil that would be used as subgrade on the Tica Tica-Chinchero Highway, said improvement will be produced by adding Hydraulic Plaster directly, thus seeking to comply With the established parameters of a subgrade suitable for a low traffic volume road, tests were carried out on granulometry, moisture content, Atterberg limits, Modified Proctor (Maximum Dry Density and Optimum Moisture Content), CBR support capacity and resistance. to erosion. This additive was added in minimum percentages of 1%, 2% and 3% in the Civil Engineering Laboratory of the Andean University of Cusco, which show us in their results the partial fulfillment of our hypotheses under the conditions of the Manual of Regulations. Materials Test (2016); Hydraulic gypsum as a soil stabilizing additive has a complex preparation, because it is produced in ovens with the capacity to sustain an average temperature of 900 C°. An analysis was proposed on the aforementioned mechanical properties of the natural soil, natural soil + 1% hydraulic gypsum, natural soil + 2% hydraulic gypsum and natural soil + 3% hydraulic gypsum, a total of 132 physical tests were carried out. . laboratory of 6 different sampled pits, the results showed us a change in the physical and mechanical properties as the percentage of Hydraulic Plaster added to each sample was increased, having the best result in two research points (pits C1 and C5). with the mixture of natural soil + 3% of YH and natural soil + 2% of YH respectively, in relation to the CBR bearing capacity test, an improvement of 5% and 9% was obtained, the soil of this road is included in a good subgrade category (S3) according to the Highway Manual (2016).
